Advancement Operations serves as a resource for campus partners navigating the administrative and operational aspects of fundraising and donor support.  

From accepting gifts and managing gift agreements to reporting, fund questions, and event coordination, our team helps connect people, processes, and information across the university. Through collaboration with UCCS departments, the CU Foundation, and other university partners, we help ensure gifts are managed responsibly, data is accessible and accurate, and processes run smoothly from gift acceptance through stewardship and reporting.

The Advancement operations team helps ensure advancement activities are well-supported, compliant, and data-informed. Below are resources and services available to support your efforts.
 

  1. I Need to Submit a Gift 

Our team is located in Main Hall, Suite 301, and the office is open 8:00 – 5:00 Monday through Friday. You may bring cash or check donations during our open hours, or use the dropbox located next to our door. 

If you need to direct someone to give online, please send them to our general giving page: UCCS Giving Page 

Donors can type keywords into the Gift Designation box to find any fund they wish to give to. For example, typing "veteran" will display 14 different gift funds related to veteran support. 

  1. I Need Help With a Gift Fund 

Advancement & Engagement Operations can support questions and information needs related to gift funds. Whether you are looking for information about an existing fund or considering whether updates are needed for a fund, our team is here to help. 

This may include: 

  • Fund balances and gift agreement information 

  • Questions about a fund's purpose or donor restrictions 

  • Fund changes, including updates to fund administrators or contacts 

  • Support identifying underutilized funds and available balances 

  • Assistance navigating CU Foundation processes and requirements 

  • Guidance on fund stewardship and donor intent

  1. I need to Spend Gift Funds 

Need guidance on using gift funds to support your program, department, or initiative? Our team can help answer questions about fund usage and connect you with available resources.  

If you are a fund manager, training and resources are available by navigating to the CU Foundation's resource site: https://www.giving.cu.edu/fundmanager. You will need to be logged in with your UCCS credentials.  

If you are not a fund manager for your college or unit and you have questions about gift funds that may be available for your use, please start with your college financial liaison. 

  1. I Need Constituent Information for an Event 

Planning an event and unsure who to invite? Advancement Operations can help identify alumni, donors, parents, community partners, and other audiences that may be a good fit for your event. 

Our team can assist with: 

  • Developing invitation lists based on your event goals 

  • Identifying alumni, donors, and friends connected to your program 

  • Providing mailing and contact list guidance 

  • Coordinating Advancement partners when donor-specific audiences are involved 

  • Ensuring constituent information is used appropriately and in accordance with federal privacy laws, university and foundation policies 

Whether you're planning a college celebration, donor event, lecture, ribbon cutting, reunion, or other special program, we're happy to discuss your needs and identify potential audiences.
